Frontier Times Museum Ranch Rodeo

Don’t forget that the Frontier Times Museum Ranch Rodeo will be held July 22 and 23. It is also the National Day of the Cowboy so plan on celebrating throughout the entire town of Bandera.

Mesquite Trail Drivers Association Ranch Rodeo

The Mesquite Trail Drivers Association Ranch Rodeo will kick off this Friday (7-8-11) with a team meeting at 6:30 pm in Adkins, Tx.  The top 8 teams from Friday night will be back on Saturday night to compete for the Championship.  Please download the schedule and make your way over to Adkins for some guaranteed cowboy entertainment.

Crider’s Results

Here are the results for Crider’s Ranch Rodeo held in Hunt, Texas recently.  Got No Ranch came out on top with a first place win, but South Texas Cattle Marketing was very close on their heels.  CridersRESULTS(1)

STRHA Results

The Southwest Texas Ranch Heritage Association held its rodeo in Uvalde on April 30 at the SWTJC Rodeo Arena.   Photos were taken and will be made available on this site asap.

Upcoming Events – Adkins, Bandera, Junction, Pleasanton

Here are a couple of flyers for upcoming rodeos.   These are just prelimary schedules.  They are subject to change so please continue to look for updates and new posts.  Hope to see you at some or all of them.
**Don’t forget you have to have your membership dues paid up before you participate in a rodeo. All members on the team must be STRRA members for your money earnings to count towards the STRRA Finals. And, every member on your team must compete in at least one STRRA sanctioned rodeo before they can particpate at the STRRA Finals which will be held in Cotulla, Texas on October 22, 2011.

Director Nominations

We are actively seeing nominations for STRRA Directors.  We did not have our meeting in April as originally planned so we are going to be taking nominations and voting via the internet. A letter will be going out to all members from last year and current members with this information. Please send you nominations to info@strra.com. We need to fill 11 positions. We need nominations no later than June 20, 2011.

Crider’s Ranch Rodeo

The Crider’s Ranch Rodeo in Hunt was inadvertently left off the calendar. However, it is scheduled and entries are now being taken. The rodeo will be on June 24, 2011. For more information, contact Jim Gates (830)334-7170.

EHV-1 – Information

There is a lot of propaganda and misinformation about the Equine Herpes Virus type 1 that has been linked to the National Cutting Horse Association Western National Championship in Ogden, Utah. Reports of affected horses have been received from multiple States and Western Canada, with several fatalities. For more information go to www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/nahss/equine/ehv/
