Once again, the STHRA will be hosting a ranch rodeo in Uvalde, Texas. It will be at the new Fairplex Arena on Hwy 90, April 27, 2013. There will be a STRRA membership meeting and Directors meeting that day before the rodeo. Please make plans to attend. The flyer is below. Triple R – Robstown Rodeo Schedule

The Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show will be hosting its annual ranch rodeo on March 9th and 10th, 2013, at the RGVLS Rodeo Arena in Mercedes, Texas. The rodeo will start at 7:30pm on Sat and at 2:00pm on Sunday. Check out the flyer below for more details. This is an STRRA Qualifier.

Triple R – RioGrande Rodeo Schedule

Get ready for a Friday night Rodeo in Laredo, Texas!! Steer tying, calf branding, wild cow milking and steer loading should make for an exciting evening March 1, 2013. This is an STRRA qualifier. Contact Jim Gates, Triple R Rodeo, for more information.

Wharton, Texas, will be the spot to kick off your ranch rodeo season.  On February 9, 2013, a 4-man team ranch rodeo will be the first STRRA Qualifier for the season.

Just fyi, Marty Rosenquest will be able to discuss the rule about qualifying for the STRRA Finals with a 4-man team vs a 5-man team at this rodeo. If you have questions in advance, please send to info@strra.com or call Jim at (830)334-7170 or Amy at (830)334-7137.

The South Texas Ranch Rodeo Association 3rd Annual Finals was a large success even after Friday night got rained out. The teams showed up on Saturday morning to find a pump truck in the middle of the arena pumping out water. However, that did not slow the cowgirls down who had to compete in the arena first or any of the teams thereafter.
Fifteen teams competed on Saturday afternoon for a spot in the finals that evening.  When it was all said and done, Briscoe Ranch dominated the finals.  Congratulations to them.  The Paloma Ranch held on to their commanding lead in the Year End Money Earnings to be crowned the Year End Winners and they recieved some beautiful spurs.
In the Women’s Ranch Rodeo, four teams competed and it was nice to see that all four teams won one event. The Swaim-a-rosa team and the Seale Ranch were Champion and Reserve Champions, respectively. Congrats to the Women. Good Job!!
All of the results are posted below. Keep checking back from time to time to see what has been added to our calendar for 2013. If you have any questions or comments, your directors should have the answers. Congrats to Briscoe Ranch for winning big in Edna and to Paloma Cattle Co for taking top honors in Mason. A few new teams got qualified for the finals Oct 26 and 27 in Dilley, Texas. Be sure to check money earned for 2012 to see if your team qualified and get your entries to Jim Gates asap. There will be added money and many prizes!!!!
